Voter Protection
You can help protect the electoral process by serving as an election judge, or by participating in the national Democratic Party’s voter protection program.
Election Judges
Election judges help to ensure that the rights of voters are protected.
Judges of elections are responsible for the administration of election procedures in the polling place on Election Day. They ensure that the election process is administered fairly and in accordance with the law.
To be eligible to serve as an election judge, you must meet the following criteria:
- A U.S. citizen
- A resident of Kane County
- A registered voter
- Able to speak, read and write English
- Of good understanding and capable of performing duties
Candidates running for office and elected political party committeepersons​ are prohibited from serving as election judges.

Contact the Kane County Democrats or the Kane County Clerk to express your interest in serving as a Judge of Election.
