There have been several complaints about the way candidate appear on the Ballot – with the New Voting System – in Elgin and Dundee Township.
According to several people, when voting for Elgin City Council candidates and Dundee Township Trustee candidates, some candidate’s names do not appear with the rest of the candidates on the screen.
YOU MUST CLICK ON A BOX at the bottom of the screen to see that name appear.
This is also the case for at least 2 of the Democrats on the ballot for Egin Township and one for Dundee Township. This is a potentially serious harm to these candidates and to those who trust in our democratic voting processes to be fair.
It means that voters who do not know enough to click through to see their names, are not presented with an equal opportunity to cast ballots for them.

Kane County Government has put a referendum on the April 1, 2025 ballot for a sales tax increase. The intention is to raise funds to support public safety in our county; including our sheriff & courts, the coroner, the circuit clerk, 911, the Office of Emergency Management AND MORE!
